Looking at Asana Rebel, the app is clearly aimed at hardcore Yogis, with the majority of workouts being Yoga routines. There are a handful of fitness based workouts, however they are still grounded in Yoga moves! The app is clearly trying to be your one stop package for living a yoga-inspired fitness lifestyle, with extras including meditation soundtracks, and even a healthy eating section with a handful of recipes.
Freeletics.on the other hand is built for Athletes and those looking for more intense, HIIT workouts. The branding is aggressive and masculine, and the workouts are mostly variations of HIIT routines or interval running. Freeletics has many more features than Asana Rebel. There is a social feed where you can follow other users and comment on their workouts. For the competitive users amongst you, there is a whole bunch of features such as leader boards, challenges, and rewards for completing workouts and achieving streaks.
Both apps have have a premium feel to them. The designs are clean and modern, and the workout videos are well produced with real instructors who guide you through the workouts.
Which is better? Asana Rebel or Freeletics?
If the majority of your workouts are Yoga based and you already have some Yoga experience, Asana Rebel is a good option to look at. If you are looking for more intense workouts including HIIT and strength training, Freeletics is the best choice.
Neither app will suit beginners, as the workouts in both are very intense!
In regards to price, both apps have a freemium model, where a minimum subscription of 3 months is required to unlock all the content and features. Freeletics comes in slightly cheaper at $34.99 for 3 months, compared to $37.99 for Asana Rebel.
