Huge library of workouts, minimum supporting features
SUBSCRIPTION
In our Sworkit Review we have covered the best and worst features of the workout app, making it easy for you to decide if it is the right choice for you on your fitness journey. If you want to see other great options available, refer to our home workout app review. Otherwise read on!
If you want your fitness app to be all about the workouts, then the Sworkit Fitness app is for you. There is a gigantic library of workouts available with a great range of categories, with everything from Kettle bell routines to post pregnancy exercises. There is even the ability to create your own routines from Sworkit’s extensive exercise library. In addition the app looks nice and is easy to use, and is a great all round option that will meet the needs of most beginners and fitness enthusiasts.
On the flip side there are pretty much no extra features with this app. There are no social or community elements so it is not possible to follow and track your friends’ activities. The reward and progress tracking features are also virtually non-existent, so users of this app will have to bring their own motivation to the table.
In summary Sworkit is a great option if you are happy to pay for a subscription based app (there is no free plan) with a great selection of workouts. People who need social or achievement gratification baked into their fitness should look elsewhere.

Workout Review
At the time of writing, Sworkit has a huge library of 251 workouts. There are low impact workouts, quiet workouts (useful in the scenario you live above or below your neighbours), yoga, pre and post maternity, sports conditioning , and multiple variations of routines utilising additional gym equipment. Essentially this app could meet all your workout needs for a very long time! Accompanying this is a great search filter which allows you to find a workout based on criteria such as fitness goal, body area focus, ability or duration. You can even search for routines with specific equipment, resistance bands or kettle bells for example.
In the unlikely scenario that you get bored with these workouts, there is a custom workout creator, which allows you to build your own workouts either by adapting an existing routine, or creating from scratch using Sworkit’s extensive exercise library. This is a great feature allowing you to tweak workouts and replace those exercises you either struggle with or just don’t like doing!
The workouts are either time based or rep based. Some routines have the ability to configure settings such as number and length of the rest periods. This is probably the only area of the app that feels clunky, and it takes a few gos to understand how to set this up.
We did an all-body workout which was quite tough! There was a good range of exercises to keep it interesting. Small 10 second breaks gave a little recovery which ultimately made the workout realistically achievable. There is the option to have more detailed narration during the workout to guide you through the exercises which is great for beginners.
Extra bits include the ability to manually log workouts into your workout history, which will save you downloading multiple apps to track other types of exercise. The music integration is excellent, with Spotify and Apple integration, as well as an inbuilt music soundtrack.
Training Plans
There is a nice range of training plans here that are broken down by your fitness goal and ability. The drawback is they only come in 6 week duration so nothing shorter to allow users to try out a plan before committing.
Sworkit has a Coach mode to recommend you a plan based on some basic questions, but there is not a lot of value given here and it is just as easy to browse the plans and select the one most suitable.
Progress Tracking and Achievements
Unfortunately there is only very basic functionality here. There is a small stats section where you can see your basic workout numbers on a weekly or monthly breakdown. No achievement or reward features to speak of.
Community Features
None.
Extras
Set workout alarms to remind you to exercise.
