Although both Pliability (formerly known as ROMWOD) and Asana Rebel can be classed as Yoga apps, they are pitching to very different users.
Asana Rebel is a yoga inspired fitness lifestyle app. The workouts are what you expect to find in a classic yoga app, where you flow between lots of poses in each routine. In addition there are a bunch of extras such as meditation soundtracks and a selection of healthy recipe ideas.
Pliability has its roots in CrossFit, and as such is very targeted towards Athletes. The workouts are based on the ‘workout of the day’ concept, and the yoga routines focus on only a few long-held poses to target different areas of the body.
Both apps are at the premium end of the scale with regards to design and price, and have great quality workout videos and lots of content.
Which is better? Asana Rebel or Pliability?
Asana Rebel is a great option for someone with existing Yoga experience and looking for a complete fitness lifestyle app. Beginners may struggle with Asana as the poses can change quickly in the routines with little narration to guide you through.
If you are an Athlete and just looking for a mobility and recovery tool to help you perform in your sport, Pliability is a great option. Its also great for beginners as the long held poses gives ample time to get comfortable and settle into the stretch.
Both apps are not cheap and will not suit users on a tight budget!
